Friends, colleagues, sweethearts -

Imagine that you have just had a major surgery. You've recovered well, but it will be some time before you can work again. Though you have insurance, your company's short-term disability won't support your family well enough for the weeks of recovery time that you need.

Or, you've had such a surgery and you're all alone. Delivery is expensive and unhealthy, but you cannot manage trips to the grocery store on your own.

Perhaps you are elderly and require extra care at home following your hospital stay.

How will you afford this?

One of my senpai at Toyama medical has developed a pilot program to assist the most vulnerable patients following invasive or rigorous treatment. I won't bore you with the details, but the hospital can only provide so much funding to an unproven program and we need some start-up funds to really hit the ground running.

This is where you come in. I hope the able bodied among you will join me in a 5K run event to raise funds and awareness.

Entry Fee: 500 yen minimum. Any further donations from yourself or anyone who wishes to add to your entry would be welcome.
